Watermelon Taffy Dog Treats

It's watermelon season which means we have more watermelon than we can eat. Hence I am declaring this watermelon month! Or has that already happened?

This recipe is so simple and easily shared by the entire family. It's that good! I'm calling it taffy because that's what it tastes like - chewy, tangy watermelon taffy.

Wondering how to slice that watermelon the easy way? I came across this video which has changed the way I cut a watermelon. Sheer genius!

Now for the steps to make Watermelon Taffy Dog Treats...

Chewy, tangy, bursts of watermelon flavor.

  • 1 seedless watermelon

  1. Slice watermelon into strips. Keep in mind they will shrink by half when deciding how large you want your taffy to be.
  2. Place on saran wrap covered dehydrator trays.
  3. Dehydrate for several hours until it reaches desired dryness .

Good quality saran wrap will not melt in the dehydrator.

Mine have some moisture so I store them in a glass jar in the refrigerator for a few days.
