Vita Veggie Mashup

Yes, dogs are carnivores. However, they also eat and benefit from vegetables. Kirby, like many children, doesn't like veggies so I sneak them in his food by finely chopping or pureeing them

Ingredients

  • 2 large chopped green peppers
  • 1 peeled chopped cucumber
  • 1 large bunch kale, stems removed
  • 1 (12 oz) bag butternut squash
  • 1 (12 oz) bag broccoli & cauliflower
  • 1 (12 oz) bag green beans

Directions

  1. Chop up the green peppers and peeled cucumber. Puree in a food processor or blender. Pour into a large bowl
  2. Lightly cook the remaining produce in a large pot until tender. Strain.
  3. Puree in a food processor or blender. Pour into the bowl and stir until thoroughly mixed

This can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 months. I like to freeze it in small silicone molds, or ice trays, and place in a freezer ziplock bag. Take out what you need, let thaw, and stir into your dog’s meal or pour over kibble. It can also be served by itself as a cool drink or warm soup.
