On May 16th I entered Kirby in the Kimptons Hotels & Restaurants Pet Photo Contest which ends May 31st. It's a two week popularity contest with the winners being the ones with the most FaceBook Likes. There are six rounds from which each has five top winners who move into the final group for selection of the one winner. The grand prize?
- A two night stay at a Kimpton Hotel of your choice
- Two round trip tickets on JetBlue for human passengers
- $500 credit for your photogenic pet on Pet Airways
- One $100 Kimpton Restaurant or room service gift certificate
- One in-room spa treatment for two
- Pet amenities such as dog bed, bowls, and treats
- Amelia Collection Carrier from Quaker Pet Group
This contest has consumed me causing me to spend hours begging people to like Kirby's picture. Several of his Facebook fans have joined in to help garner likes for him. It has been a rewarding yet frustrating journey. Some days I think he has a chance, other days I think there is no way. What have I learned from this experience? I have learned that I will never ever do another voting contest again and I have learned that I really want Kirby to make the top five. I am fully aware the judges may choose another dog. However, they could actually pick Kirbs. It's a confliction of emotions.
Right now Kirby sits exactly ten votes away from tying for the coveted fifth place. So my pleas continue in the hope that he captures fifth place. At least if he does make the cut I only have to wait one day to hear the announcement of the grand prize winner. Dare I hope it's our little rug rat? I'll be waiting with abated breath.
So please heed my plea and take a moment to cast your "LIKE" for the cute little dogger wearing the collar and tie who really wants to win this trip! All you have to do is click on this link or the one in the top right corner of this blog, then click the Sort by Popularity (Kirbs is on the first page) then click the LIKE Button under his picture. While you are there you can also LIKE any of the other pets. Kirby and I would be ever so grateful.
