I am very particular about what Kirby eats. This includes his treats. I bake the majority of his treats and when I purchase any, I read the listed ingredients. Other than natural chews and freeze dried treats very few manufactured treats make it into my kitchen.
One of the few I approve, and Kirby loves, is by Three Dog Bakery. Their treats are slow baked just like mine with limited ingredients. Over time I've brought home a few of their baked treats which Kirby didn't really care for. He's used to home-made and has a discerning taste. That certainly fed my ego and I would just give the uneaten treats to friends for their dogs.
Then I brought home a box of carob flavored Classic Cremes. I liked their short list of healthy ingredients while Kirby just knew he loved the taste of carob. One of the ingredients is corn syrup which is made from the starch in maize used as a non=sweet thickener and should not to be confused with high fructose corn syrup so don't let this scare you.
I have actually tasted these cookies and, I swear, they can give Oreo's a run for their money. Yum!
